Ryan's fascination in production began at a young age with an interest in local news. Years later, he began shooting breaking news as a freelance photographer for RI and MA television stations, just before branching out into many other aspects of video production going on to work with with various private, public, non-profit, and government entities in a variety of marketing functions.
After working in Boston television news, Ryan came home to be back in the state he grew up in and now works as a news photojournalist covering general assignment news, sports, and the ever-changing New England weather.Ryan has a diverse knowledge of many platforms including Grass Valley software, Adobe Creative Suites, and Final Cut along with a variety of formats like Panasonic P2, Sony, JVC, DVCPRO, MiniDV and SDHC/DSLR.
Covering local breaking news, gathering soundbites with officials, newsmakers, and the general public and working with reporters, producers and management to ensure a quality product reaches air to the viewers.
Designing motion graphics for "World Tennis with Harry Cicma" on NESN along with various other sports shows to be seen locally, regionally and nationally using a wide variety of software including Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator; occasional videography work for short segments at the International Tennis Hall of Fame
Producer for social media campaigns, promotional video, and company website for existing branding; shooting, producing, and editing video used for marketing, sales, and internal company training; maintaining knowledge of IT systems and networks to troubleshoot basic problems as they arise
Producing, gathering, editing video for promotional use for RIEMA and RIUSAR; created a short documentary style video, in collaboration with many agencies highlighting the state's response to Hurricane Sandy to be used during the 2013 RIEMA Hurricane Conference
